Dr. Patrick Mwamba was trained in the United States by Dr. Cole. Together, they developed an advanced follicular graft technique of FUE, called FIT (Follicular Isolation Transplantation). He has been practicing hair transplantation for more than 10 years in his clinic in Brussels, Belgium, and is one of the few to offer FUE for all types of skin and hair (including curly hair). He offers various FUE graft solutions without shaving, such as patchy or Unshaven (FUE without any shaving).

Originating the FUE, Dr. Cole and Dr. Patrick Mwamba devised the direct unit isolation procedure in the USA in the early 2000s, and Dr. Mwamba continued on these bases to develop the F.I.T. procedure, "Follicular Isolation Transplantation". The 3-step FUE named F.I.T. (Follicular Isolation Transplantation) minimizes graft trauma by shortening the hypoxia time of the grafts and allows visibility of the grafts' direction. The F.I.T. procedure allows for the lowest transection rate existing in direct extraction procedures.

Other developments include FIT farming (densification and repair of the donor area), FUE Unshaven (without any shaving), and Patchy FIT (FUE with partial shaving). All these techniques are available in Brussels.

The particularities of his technique allow him to offer scar-free FUE hair transplantation to patients with curly hair – which is technically almost impossible because the hair follicles of curly hair are curved inside the skin. Dr. Mwamba is recognized as one of the only doctors in the world to produce true FUE transplant results on curly hair.
